Hey friends! Are you looking for a comprehensive list of low carb foods suitable for a keto or low carb diet? Look no further! At YouTok Shop, we have put together an extensive list of foods that contain zero or minimal carbohydrates. Unlike many misleading videos out there, we won’t include watermelon on our zero carb list. So let’s dive right into it!

Zero Carb Foods

All types of meat make it to the top of our zero carb list. Beef, chicken, pork, turkey, lamb, bison, duck, rabbit, deer, and kangaroo are all excellent options for your low carb journey. Just be cautious of pre-marinated or sauced meats, as these may have added sugars.

If you’re a seafood lover, you’re in luck! Salmon, sardines, mackerel, tuna, shrimp, crab, lobster, cod, trout, bass, anchovies, and herring all contain zero carbohydrates.

Cheese and Dairy

Most cheeses contain minimal carbohydrates, typically less than one gram per serve. Indulge in American cheese, blue cheese, parmesan, feta, cheddar, cream cheese, goat cheese, jack, mozzarella, swiss, provolone, brie, gouda, and tulumi without worrying about breaking your low carb diet.

Other Animal Products

Expand your options with chicken eggs, duck eggs, fish eggs (roe), beef bone broth, chicken bone broth, fish bone broth, and cod liver. These animal products are all carb-free and add variety to your meals.

Fats and Oils

Healthy fats and oils are essential for a low carb diet. Opt for butter, ghee, beef tallow, coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, MCT oil, flax seed oil, cod liver oil, palm oil, duck fat, chicken fat, and bacon grease. Avoid refined oils such as vegetable oil, canola oil, grapeseed oil, soybean oil, and corn oil, as they can cause inflammation in the body.

While many sauces contain added sugars, you can still enjoy mayonnaise, sour cream, ketchup, mustard, aioli, vinegar, tartar sauce, butter sauce, soy sauce, and barbecue sauce. Look for brands like Primal Kitchen and Undivided Food Co. that offer options without added sugar.

Although it is impossible for any vegetable to be completely carb-free, some have less than one gram of total carbs per serve. Include bok choy, arugula, iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, butter lettuce, pickles, kale, Swiss chard, and celery in your low carb meals.

Unfortunately, there are no fruits that contain less than one gram of total carbs per serve. However, you can still enjoy the great taste of fruits in moderation while on a low carb diet.

Low Carb Foods (Less Than Five Grams of Carbs)

In addition to the zero carb foods, we have a list of foods that contain slightly higher but still extremely low amounts of carbohydrates. These foods are suitable for a low carb or keto diet.

Asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, eggplant, green bell pepper, mushrooms, and zucchini are all excellent options if you’re looking to keep your carb intake low.

Olives and coconut flakes are two fruits that contain less than five grams of total carbs per serve. They make great additions to your low carb snacks or meals.

Although avocados don’t make the zero carb cut, they are still a fantastic food to include in your low carb or keto diet. The benefits they offer outweigh their slightly higher carb content.

Nuts and Seeds

Indulge in macadamia nuts, almonds, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, hemp seeds, walnuts, sesame seeds, pecans, peanuts, chia seeds, peanut butter, almond butter, flax seed, pumpkin seeds, and sesame seed butter. These delicious treats add flavor and variety to your low carb journey.

Cheese and Dairy

While some soft cheeses like cottage cheese, ricotta, and heavy cream may contain slightly higher amounts of carbs, they can still be enjoyed in moderation.
