First things first, it’s important to understand that spot reduction isn’t possible. You can’t specifically target fat loss in a particular area of your body. However, what you can do is strengthen the muscles in that area, including your back muscles.

So, for all the working moms out there like Sharifa from Houston, Texas, Jennifer recommends a full-body workout along with proper nutrition. But wait, don’t worry! These exercises can be done anywhere, anytime, and without any heavy weights.

Exercise 1: Diagonal Shoulder Press

To perform the first exercise, you’ll need a mini resistance band. Place the band outside your wrists and stand with one foot stepped back, balancing on the ball of your back foot. Inhale and engage your abs, then exhale and press down to the outside foot. Repeat this movement, focusing on your shoulders, abs, back, and legs. The mini band adds resistance without the need for extra weight.

Exercise 2: Mini Band Deadlift

For the second exercise, again using the mini band, place both feet into it. Grab the middle part of the band and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Start with a slight bend in your knees and hinge at the hips, as if you’re trying to open a door with your butt. Maintain a neutral spine and look down at the floor. Reach down as if you’re picking something up off the floor, and then drive back up. This exercise targets the back of your legs, glutes, and the muscles along your spine.

Remember, these two exercises, performed consistently, can help strengthen your back muscles and contribute to reducing back fat.
