Adderall and My Experience: Exploring ADHD and Medication

Hey there, welcome back to YouTok Shop! In this channel, we tackle various topics like ADHD, mental well-being, and personal development. It’s been a while since my last video, and today I want to share a recent experience I had with Adderall.

Before we dive into it, let me catch you up on what’s been happening in my life. The past couple of years have been challenging, both for me personally and for the world as a whole. I lost my mom in 2020 and my dad less than a year ago in 2021. It’s been rough, to say the least.

Recently, I found myself in a different living situation, staying with my sister. That’s her dog, Hope, who you just met a moment ago. Life has been a rollercoaster, but I wanted to try something new, something that I never thought I would consider – taking Adderall.

As someone with ADHD, I’ve always been hesitant about medication. I believed that it wasn’t a part of my identity, but I also knew that it could potentially help others. So, out of curiosity, I reached out to a friend who had Adderall and decided to give it a try.

After consulting with a doctor, who had my referral information from my ADHD diagnosis in the past, I started taking Adderall as prescribed. The dosage was initially 15 milligrams twice a day, along with vitamin D and fish oil supplements. However, I soon realized that it was too much for me. I experienced jaw tension, constant biting of the inside of my mouth, and it didn’t quite provide the desired focus and time management improvement.

I decided to adjust the dosage to seven milligrams in the morning and seven milligrams in the afternoon. While I understand that Adderall works for many people, it didn’t align with my expectations. It made me tense and didn’t address my specific ADHD symptoms. Eventually, I concluded that being my authentic self, with all the quirks and challenges that come with ADHD, was a preferable choice.

Stepping away from my previous job in the real estate industry and reducing the stress in my life has actually made a significant difference in managing my anxiety. Adderall didn’t serve its purpose for me personally, but I recognize that it might be beneficial for others in specific situations, such as intense college semesters or demanding academic programs.

Moving forward, I want to continue sharing content related to mental health, brain health, and personal growth. I also thought about starting a second channel where I can delve into random topics that interest me, something many YouTubers I admire do. However, this is just an idea for now, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

Before we wrap up, I want you to know that you are in my prayers. I truly appreciate each and every one of you for tuning into my humble little channel. Remember that you are special and perfectly made just the way you are, with your unique mind and experiences.

Thank you for watching, and I’m excited to connect with you again soon. Please let me know your thoughts and any video ideas you have because I’m always overflowing with them! Take care, and see you next time.
